Making Presentations: Get Their Attention

Posted by admin

No matter who you are giving a presentation for, you must grab their attention. That's the first thing that must be done when making presentations. If your audience doesn't find your introduction interesting, they will have a hard time paying attention to the information that follows it.

There are a number of ways to get attention. State a shocking fact. Ask an absurd question. Present a visual aid. Do a quick audience participation activity. Keep your attention grabber relevant to your presentation so they will listen until the end. The key thing is to get the audience listening and thinking. After that, everything will fall into place.
