Less Common Usage Statistics to Keep An Eye On

Posted by admin

Here are two less common usage statistics that may be of use to you.

Response Codes – The code that each hit received is tracked.  A code of 200 means everything is in order (the request was made, received, and the right file was sent back).  A code of 206 means the file wasn’t delivered completely.  404 code means the file couldn’t be found.  These are some helpful usage statistics.

Referrer – The website that connected to a webpage on your site.  This is not entirely reliable because it can be changed by the user.  It does show you, for the most part, what browsers the viewers are using to obtain usage statistics.
