Prostate cancer statistics

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed type of cancer in men, accounting for 30% of all cancers in men. In 2008, approximately 186,320 men in the United States will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, with an estimated 28,660 expected to die from the disease. Prostate problems have been around for centuries and it has been found that men who had their testicles removed before they reached puberty did not develop prostate problems and cancer. This has lead doctors to believe that aging is the biggest cause of prostate problems.
