The beginning of the new year has introduced two new laws related to defensive driving instruction for California drivers. Senate Bill 1613 is the first law that restricts the usage of mobile phones while driving. According to the law, which is expected to be practiced from July 1, 2008, it is recommended that you use hand-free devices for conversation while driving. The second law, called Senate Bill 33, prohibits the drivers, who fall below the age of 18, to use mobile devices while driving.
