I was watching TV when, naturally some commercials came on. There was a massive push from one of these technical schools for database administrators. They said that database administrator roles were growing within companies and that while database administrators were in high demands, qualified candidates were not meeting the needs.
I decided to see what exactly was needed, education wise, to be a database administrator. The qualifications were daunting as they require working knowledge of several computer languages, certifications from multiple sources, and the ability to keep up with the ever changing technologies that come out, what seems like, every year.
