There may be a problem getting a security clearance since debt flags for a more detailed investigation. You do want to make a payment plan and keep to it -- else you will invite some extra attention from your chain of command to make sure you pay your bills. You must have a wife and kids? Good luck -- hard road to start of as an E1 with a family. But stick with it and keep up the disipline that you showed cleaning up your credit report. Yes, you may enlist with some outstanding debt.
