There are symptoms which are similar in more than one type of infection.  To be positive that you have a yeast infection you will need to make an appointment with your doctor.  A yeast infection is caused by a Candida organism.  These organisms have a tendency to grow and distribute themselves until they have grown out of control.  

The least difficult way for a woman to find out whether or not she has a yeast infection is that in a yeast infection one of the major symptoms is a burning sensation and aching, redness, and swelling in the vulvar area.
