What to do about Acrylic Nail Infections

It was the holiday season and I was going in for my before holiday party manicure & pedicure. The girl at the salon had not seen me in while and asked me how I was doing. She looked at my hands and saw that I was growing out of my nails. She said to be careful because I could get Acrylic Nail Infections on my fingers if I left my fake nails on for a prolonged period of time. I knew it had been awhile since I had them done and they looked it but I did not know about getting an infection from leaving them on too long.
