Making Your Patio Stand Out

Posted by admin

How many patios have you seen that are grey, square and join onto a lawn? My guess is that probably around 90% of garden designs feature a patio of this style. I often wonder why this is. Perhaps it’s simply because this is the way people have seen patios built for years and simply don’t think of anything else. It doesn’t take much to make your patio stand out. You could try a raised patio, but for the easiest way to make a real difference, give it some shape. Add a curve as it meets your lawn and finish it off with bricks laid sideways. Or, if you really want a square affair, leave one or two slabs out and fill them with gravel and a nice tall potted plant.
