Community Colleges: Looking Into An Associates Degree?
In order to earn associates degrees at community colleges, students must complete a two year course of study needed to earn that degree. This course of study is comprised of a set curriculum of mandatory classes coupled with a set number of extra-curricular classes in order to receive a certain number of credits. An associates degree is enough education to get a job that only requires two years of post high school education. Community colleges are also a stepping stone for obtaining a Bachelor’s degree at a four year college or university. Most courses taken at community colleges that are necessary toward a curriculum at a four year college are transferable.
